2015 Mesker-Garcia Holiday Letter

We hope this letter finds our friends well and that the past year has had more good than bad. Kenny & I are doing fine on the health & job front – both of us are still working at Chevron & Luby’s Fuddruckers, respectively.

Despite having an overall good news, we are very sad to share the news that our pup Pascal passed away in late October. He had shown no signs of ill health and he was only 7 years old so it was completely unexpected and hit us all very hard. Rosie grieved with us – understandable since she had never known life without Pascal – he was her older brother.

We decided we were a 2-dog family and we didn’t want Rosie to be alone for very long…so before we knew it, a 2 year old, 8 lb Chihuahua found his way into our hearts. Our friend named him Radar (look at those ears) & he has made himself right at home. He came from a local private rescue group & he is spunky, playful and a total lap dog – but not yappy at all. He is just a cuddlebug and he & Rosie aren’t best friends yet but they seem to get along fine.

In terms of travel, I went to New York City for another quick weekend trip with a girlfriend in January – where I *finally* visited the Statue of Liberty. I even walked up the 377 steps into her crown!

Kenny stayed stateside for almost all of his work trips – except for a trip to Aberdeen, Scotland, where I finally had the opportunity to tag along! While he worked, I figured out the bus system, visited a few castles in the area & explored the city – my favorite castle was the one pictured to the left, Dunottar Castle. I soon fell in love with Aberdeen & Scotland! Once Kenny was done with work, we took the train to Edinburgh where we experienced the world famous Edinburgh Festival (which is actually several festivals in one). We saw several plays as part of the Fringe Festival and had the chance to watch the Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo at the castle (picture above) – so amazing to see it live!

We have a few trips we hope to make in 2016 and we can’t wait to see more amazing places! With that, we wish you all a very…

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

Elaine, Kenny – Rosie & Radar

Love, Kenny, Elaine & Radar
