2019 Mesker-Garcia Holiday Letter

First, I apologize that this letter will be arriving after Christmas but I must be honest, the season snuck up on me! Hopefully it’s arriving before or around New Year’s though!  So without further delay…

The Furbabies: The pups are good! Rosie (Weimaranar mix) and Radar (Chihuahua) are doing great! They spend their days cozy in dog beds and blankets.

What pays the bills: Kenny celebrated 10 years at Chevron and currently holds the title of PCN Cybersecurity Advisor. His travel kept him mostly stateside this year but he did manage to make his 3rd trip to Kazakhstan. I have pretty exciting news myself. After 15 months working as a contractor, I became a full-fledged employee at CenterPoint Energy with the title of Social Media Specialist. I love my team and am so excited about the opportunities.

Before I get to our travel update, I had to include the “Great Break of 2019”. At the end of April I managed to trip over myself at the end of a photo shoot. I saved my camera equipment but I did not save either of the bones in my left forearm. It was a clean double break and after an ambulance ride, an overnight hospital stay and emergency surgery, I was home 24 hours after I fell with some new hardware. I didn’t let the over-the-elbow cast stop me from heading to Caye Caulker, Belize (see photo evidence).

Which is a perfect segue into this year’s travels: A long overdue floor to ceiling remodel of our master bathroom had us curtailing travel this year but in addition to a long weekend in Caye Caulker, I made another quick trip to NYC with a dear friend to introduce her 12 year old daughter to the Big Apple (and to see a Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum). Kenny & I also managed a week-long trip to Colorado over the Thanksgiving holiday. We stayed in Denver and took daytrips to Estes Park/Rocky Mountain Park (where we saw elk) and Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs. A snowstorm the night before we arrived created a white winter wonderland for us – our drives into the mountains were breathtaking!

In closing, we wish all of our friends and family much love in 2020 & stay in touch!

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year! Elaine, Kenny, Rosie & Radar

Love, Kenny, Elaine & Radar
